More Colour

Hello All
Quite s few of you enjoyed the pictures of colourful carrots, So here is another colourful picture from the garden. While late to flower there seems to be no stopping them now. Dahlias and Calendula to the fore, with pink spray crysanths' just starting to the right and nasturtiums to the rear. I sat on a bucket with my camera and a cup of tea and looked at this scene for some time.

The tomatoes were a little late starting too and while the main crop is coming to an end the "Sweet Million" are still going strong. There are lots higher up..rubbish pic I know.

Here is Coda and Sammie playing with a large Sticky Stick. They help themselves from the pile to be processed outside David's workshop and though we give them a smaller one each they prefer to share.
When David saw them he said "I wondered where the scratches on the car were from" oops!

Just a quick one today. I'm off picking more Damsons as they are selling well and I haven't even put any down for the wine yet, though  have made a few jars of jam.
Back soon

  1. We had a huge damson tree when I was a child and my mother made lots of jam with them as it was my father's favourite.
Beautiful flowers - and fantastic tomatoes which look as though they taste fantastic.

    1. I have more ideas than time to give to this years' crop! I will be wine making later in the year with the bags that I have frozen. It is the first time I have grown Sweet Million" and it IS a very tasty tomato.

  2. Lovely colour in the garden this time of year. I had lots in my old garden but haven't got this one sorted yet! Spring colour us next on the agenda. Love the dogs.

    1. We aren't so good in spring. apart from the fruit trees of course, which can be a picture.
They are funny aren't they. They bring us much joy!

    1. Same with our sweet corn. Looking good but too late to ripen.

    1. We are always being "legged-up" by the sticks they drag around.
Coda also steals sticks from beside the fire and chews them up all over the carpet.

  5. Your beautiful flowers make me all the more aware that my garden is a Spring/Summer interest garden. There's nothing much out there any mire. I need to plan a little better!
I can certainly empathise with the labs and their sticks, although fortunately, Jet prefers a ball at home.

    1. They are not so friendly over balls I'm afraid. Sammie picks all the balls up at once in his mouth and won't let Coda have one!

  6. Oh I love that story about the dogs; and they look so happy scratching the car ... Envy you drinking tea in the garden; those days are over for me ! x

    1. Fortunately David isn't as car-proud as some!
Why can't you drink tea in your garden any more?
